The basic requirements to get a Texas real estate license are simple. Do you meet these requirements?
A real estate license is required for most real estate jobs. Texas requires 180 hours of pre-licensing education. The breakdown of the 180 hours is as follows:
Principles of Real Estate 1 – 30 hours
Principles of Real Estate 2 – 30 hours
Law of Agency – 30 hours
Law of Contracts – 30 hours
Promulgated Contract Forms – 30 hours
Real Estate Finance – 30 hours
You can apply to take the Texas real estate exam after you have completed the licensing education requirements. The Texas real estate exam fee is $54. Pearson VUE manages the state exam process and you can take the exam in any Pearson VUE location.
The application will ask you some basic questions about you and your background, including any other real estate licenses you have held or currently hold. The Texas real estate license application fee is $205.
You must also have your fingerprints taken as part of a background check. The background check process is managed by IdentoGO.
