Step 1: Make sure you meet the basic requirements

Step 2: Register for real estate licensing classes

 

A real estate license is required for most real estate jobs. Minnesota requires 90 hours of pre-licensing education (3 courses, 30 hours each) before they will let you get a real estate license.

Step 3: Apply to take the Minnesota real estate exam

 

You can apply to take the Minnesota real estate exam after you have completed the licensing education requirements. The Minnesota real estate exam fee is $51. Pearson VUE manages the state exam process in Minnesota.

Step 4: Complete the Minnesota real estate license application

 

The application will ask you some basic questions about you and your background, including any other real estate licenses you have held or currently hold. The Minnesota license application fee is $130.

Minnesota requires a criminal background check for all real estate license applicants. Applicants with a criminal history will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
